- Our Story
Maa Animal Foundation began in 2016 in Ahmedabad with a simple belief: every life matters, including
the ones living on the street with no one to call their own. What started as a small group of volunteers
feeding and rescuing stray dogs has grown into a dedicated shelter and rescue operation, treating
thousands of animals each year. Today, we operate from our facility in Shertha, Gandhinagar, where
injured, abandoned, and elderly dogs receive medical care, food, and a safe place to heal — many for
the rest of their lives.
- Our Mission
To rescue, treat, and rehabilitate stray and injured dogs, reduce suffering through sterilization and
vaccination programs, and build a community that sees street dogs with compassion rather than fear.

- Compassion First — every dog is treated with dignity, regardless of age, breed, or condition.
- Community Partnership — we work alongside residents, volunteers, and local authorities.
- Transparency — every donation is used directly for rescue, treatment, and shelter operations.
- No Animal Left Behind — dogs who cannot be adopted due to age or disability receive lifelong sanctuary with us.
